Bertuzzi, Up To His Old Tricks

Petr Puck scored 2, but the Rangers gave up a late goal to the Canucks and lost 3-2. I tried to follow the 'play-by-play' of the 3rd period by getting the text feed from newyorkrangers.com. What a strange way to follow the action: getting a browser refresh every 20 seconds or so, and scrolling down to see terse one line descriptions. I've followed a baseball game that way, which isn't so bad, because baseball is a much slower game, what with all of the cleat-tapping, chaw-spitting, protective cup-adjusting, etc. that goes on between every pitch.

Here's the last 3 minutes of the 3rd period:
285 3 17:01 STOPPAGE N/A - Puck in Netting
286 3 17:01 FACE-OFF N/A - NYR won - defensive zone. VAN 20 KESLER vs NYR 20 RUCCHIN
287 3 17:12 FACE-OFF N/A - NYR won - offensive zone. VAN 20 KESLER vs NYR 82 STRAKA
288 3 17:14 STOPPAGE N/A - Puck in Benches
289 3 17:21 TAKEAWAY NYR EV 68 JAGR
290 3 17:25 SHOT NYR EV 82 STRAKA, Wrist, 24 ft
291 3 17:26 HIT VAN EV 2 OHLUND
292 3 17:48 STOPPAGE N/A - Goalie Stopped
293 3 17:48 SHOT NYR EV 68 JAGR, Snap, 38 ft
294 3 17:48 FACE-OFF N/A - VAN won - defensive zone. VAN 33 SEDIN vs NYR 14 WARD
295 3 18:10 STOPPAGE N/A - Offside
296 3 18:11 FACE-OFF N/A - NYR won - neutral zone. VAN 7 MORRISON vs NYR 25 PRUCHA
297 3 18:51 MISSED SHOT NYR EV 68 JAGR, Wide of Net
298 3 19:30 GOALIE NYR - 30 LUNDQVIST, Goalie Pulled
299 3 19:37 SHOT NYR EV 14 WARD, Slap, 49 ft
300 3 19:59 MISSED SHOT NYR EV 92 NYLANDER, Wide of Net

Scintillating, isn't it?
Anyway, the New York Times had this photo of S.O.B. Todd Bertuzzi, being his usual thug self.
Bertuzzi up to old tricks

'Ugliest Goal' looks like a beauty, eh?

Jagr called Martin Rucinsky's goal in overtime the ugliest goal he's ever seen. (Well, what else are you going to call a one-timer that flies over the net, bounces off the glass, and ricochets off of the goalie's head and into the net?)

I call it sweet! YAY!!!

Holy Moly, Here's Our Goalie

Peter Puck (a.k.a. Petr Prucha) Does Not Suck!

After getting a measly 1 point in the overtime loss to the Black Hawks, the Rangers took it out on the Nashville Predators last night, 5-1.
What can I say, the oatmeal just tastes a bit sweeter when your team is in first place. WOO!
Peter Puck

Five In A Row @ The Garden!

I'm going to ignore the loss the other night to the Capitals, and instead concentrate on the Rangers 3-1 win over the Minnesota Wild.
Peter Puck (Okay, his real name is Petr Prucha) scored twice, and Martin Straka had the other goal.

Straka and Rangers Celebrate

YAY!!

All together now.... Let's Go Rangers!

If I had a Satellite Dish...

I could be watching the Rangers play their best hockey in years. But for now, photos (like this one by Barton Silverman/NY Times) are all I got. Better'n nothin'!
Rangers 2, Penguins 1
YAY!

2 Goalies Better Than 1

Question: Does Henrik mind sharing his goal crease with one of his defensemen? Better than being screened by him, I suppose.
