Rangers 7 - Penguins 1 YAY!

The Rangers beat Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury like a rented mule yesterday at the Garden. That sucks for him, but whaddyagonnado?

Mario Lemieux: Gone Again, Too Soon

Yesterday Mario Lemieux retired from the Penguins, citing health issues. An irregular heartbeat, a bad back, and a form of Hodgkin's disease are all things he battled while maintaining the highest skill of any hockey player in the history of the sport, except for possibly Wayne Gretzky. I hate to see such amazing talent leave the game...

Mario Lemieux- Gone Again, Too Soon

On a (somewhat) related note, former Lemieux protegé, and current NHL leader in scoring, Jaromir Jagr had a goal in a losing effort. Sabres 2 - Rangers 1.

Blueshirts Mission Accomplished!

Yesterday, I tasked the Rangers to end the Devils 9 game winning streak, and the boys complied. YAY!!

Petr (Prucha) Puck put a bisquit in the basket,

Petr Beats Brodeur!

Michael Nylander scored the eventual game winner,

Nylander Scores Game Winner!

Along the way, Henrik (Holy Moly, what a goalie!) Lundqvist was his usual swell Swedish self.

Stretch Those Groins!

Forget Him Not!

Rangers 3 - Bruins 2. Sykora scores the winner in the 6th round of the shootout!
YAY!

When coach Tom Renney was asked why Sykora, a proven goal scorer, wasn't used earlier in the shootout, he sheepishly replied, "I kind of forgot about him; he was down at the other end of the bench." Yo coach, I know you gots lots of Czech players, but don't overlook the obvious ones for the shootout, mmkay?

Sykora's Big Score

The hated Devils come in to MSG tonight. Ok, Blueshirts, let's end their winning streak at 9 games. That is your mission, should you choose to accept it. Let's Go Rangers!

I have a new front tooth, and the Rangers Win in Pittsburgh.

Rangers 4 - Penguins 2. YAY!

Petr Puck netted 2 goals, and Michal Rozsival made up for his earlier gaffe (scoring a dreaded 'own goal') by tallying the game-winner. They're calling it a 'Playoff Push' over at NewYorkRangers.com, and so am I. (thanks again for the photo!)

Things are looking up

Let's Go Rangers!

I have a new crown, which has been cemented in place on my titanium dental implant. For the money this whole thing has cost me, it had better outlast the Earth, the stars, and the cockroaches. I'm including this personal item with my NYR obsession only because my tooth trouble was the result of a hockey injury.
Sorry, no picture available.

It's so simple, why didn't I think of it before?

I have the discovered the secret to keep the Rangers from ever losing again.
Hold the opposition to less than 4 goals.

Red Wings 4 - Rangers 3.
Blue Jackets 4 - Rangers 3.

But will anyone listen to me?
No, of course not. Mine is a voice in the wilderness.
Once more, with feeling: Let's Go Ranguhs!

'Oh Baby', a Comeback Victory!

A couple of days ago, the Blueshirts made a trade in order to get more 'Czech-ing' in the lineup. (That's a total of NINE Czech players) Ladies and Gentlemen, here is your newest New York Ranger, Petr Sykora!

New Ranger, Petr Sykora

Guess who had a goal and an assist in the Rangers come from behind win over the Flames?? (I'll give you a hint, he wears number 17 and he's from Czechoslovakia)

Are you feelin' it? I'm feelin' it.

Comeback Victory!

I HATE the Flyers.

Let's just get that out of the way, right off the bat. I never like to see the boys lose, but losing to the Flyers in overtime (Just 7 seconds into ot- what, were they still standing along the dasher, drinking Powerade?) is a steamy pile of crap.

I AM NOT HAPPY. Oh well, I shall console myself with the knowledge that the Blueshirts salvaged a point for getting a tie in regulation.

And look at the expression on the girl's face behind the glass, just beyond the dejected Marik Malek. She's not happy either. I'm guessing she's about to launch an f-bomb, followed by another f-bomb. I hear ya, girl!

I hate the Flyers!

Robert Caplin from the NY Times took the photo, and with abject sadness, I have posted it here without permission.

*sigh* Let's Go Rangers!

Ice Is Slippery...

...and my beloved Rangers are in a bit (2 wins, 4 losses, and 2 ties in the last 8 games) of a slump. This is why I should not go on vacation; the minute I take my eyes offa these guys, they start tripping over the blue line. Huh.
Anyway, with only 1 more game left in the 1st half of the regular season, they still have a very good record. (22-12-6)
So Imma not gonna freak out too, too, too much over Henrik letting in the overtime goal last night to the Lightning; after all, they still get 1 point for an OT loss.

Ice is Slippery

C'mon now, Let's Go Rangers!
