Yesterday Mario Lemieux retired from the Penguins, citing health issues. An irregular heartbeat, a bad back, and a form of Hodgkin's disease are all things he battled while maintaining the highest skill of any hockey player in the history of the sport, except for possibly Wayne Gretzky. I hate to see such amazing talent leave the game...
On a (somewhat) related note, former Lemieux protegé, and current NHL leader in scoring, Jaromir Jagr had a goal in a losing effort. Sabres 2 - Rangers 1.
Let's Go Rangers!
