The Last 2 Games Of A Good Season...
Sabres 5, Rangers 4 Buffalo wins series, 4 games to 2.
guh.
Well the end of the Rangers 2006-2007 season came to a valiant but regrettable ending, just like so many things tend to do. This hockey news is kind of old news, so I'm not gonna dwell on things. Have to mention Michal Nylander's 2 goals in game 6:
Great season for a lot of individual Blueshirts, as well as an inspiring team effort, which the Garden fans appreciated with a prolonged ovation following the loss and traditional team handshake. The boys reciprocated the love, with their now customary sticks-in-the-air salute:
There are still 2 rounds of NHL playoffs to go, but in the meantime...
LET'S GO RANGERS!
This is a non-writeup of the game 5 overtime loss, just to be complete about blogging the entire season. Following the team from afar with a little blog like mine is a nice way to feel a little closer to hockey, down here in the air-conditioned nightmare.
Sabres 2, Rangers 1 (ot)
guh. Buffalo's Chris Drury tied the score at 1-1 with 7.7 seconds left in regulation. Maxim Afinogenov put it away for the Sabres in overtime, thus ruining a fairly heroic effort on the road for the Rangers.
[insert frowns & scowls here]
