The Blueshirts were not exactly awesome during my Christmas vacation, (2 win, 3 losses) and now unsuccessful in their 1st game of 2009. Alex Ovechkin and the rest of the Capitals have been tearing up the Eastern Conference, trailing only the Boston Bruins. The Rangers are in 4th place, 1 point behind Philadelphia. The boys need to string together a few wins, or they will soon be overtaken by Montreal, New Jersey and Carolina. o_0;
The aforementioned Ovechkin broke a 1-1 tie with a shorthanded goal for the game-winner. The good news for New York was another goal by Petr Prucha, who is finally getting some playing time after missing 8 in a row as a 'healthy scratch'.
Ok. Gotta find a way to stop Pittsburgh tomorrow night at the garden...
