It's not the coach's fault.
Maple Leafs 3 Rangers 2 (OT)
guh.
The evening began on a festive note, with a ceremony honoring Harry Howell and Andy Bathgate and raising their numbers to the rafters. They played way back before the current Madison Square Garden (which hasn't been located in Madison Square since 1925, check it out) was built.
As for the game, there was no scoring for the first 2 periods, but in the 3rd, Toronto scored, the Rangers tied it up (Scott Gomez). The Leafs again scored less than a minute later, and the Blueshirts.... (wait for it)..... tied it with 40 seconds left on a Michal Rozsival goal. (YAY!)
But the game went to overtime, the Rangers took a penalty, and the Maple Leafs won it with a powerplay goal.
Monday morning update: The Rangers just fired coach Tom Renney. Sadly, I guess it was just a matter of time.
Who will be behind the bench when the boys are in Toronto on Wednesday night?...
Let's Go Ranguhs!!
