Pittsburgh raised its championship banner, and resumed their winning way against New York. The Rangers have nine new guys in the lineup this year, including some youngsters on defense that are going to test the patience of results-oriented fans and coaches. I hope the kids get the chance to grow into their roles.
The Pens got goals from (who else?) Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin; but Tyler Kennedy scored their eventual game-winner. Ranger scorers were Captain Chris Drury and their biggest off-season addition, Marion Gaborik. (If Gaborik can stay healthy, he could be the scoring monster the boys have needed)
The Blueshirts have their home opener tonight against the Senators at The World's Most Famous Arena ...
