The Blueshirts scored early on a goal by Jody Shelley, and despite being outshot by a huge (47-25!) margin, King Henrik Lundqvist seemed poised to steal a victory for the boys. But a 3rd period Flyers goal tied the score. Overtime solved nothing, and so the entire season was decided by the shootout. Olli Jokinen was unable to extend the game on his try against Boucher:

The Rangers started the season 7-1, ended the season on a 7-1-2 run, but in between were 24-31-9. In other words, not good.
And that, Ranger fans, is that. Wait'll next year. Again.
