Auld Lang Syne Robert Burns
Should old acquaintance be forgot, and ne’er brought to mind ?
Should old acquaintance be forgot, and days of auld lang syne?
For auld lang syne, my dear, for auld lang syne,
we'll take a cup o’ kindness yet, for auld lang syne.
And surely you’ll buy your pint cup! And surely I’ll buy mine!
And we'll take a cup o’ kindness yet, for auld lang syne.
We two have run about the slopes, and picked the daisies fine;
But we’ve wandered many a weary foot, since auld lang syne.
We two have paddled in the stream, from morning sun till dine;
But seas between us broad have roared since auld lang syne.
And there’s a hand my trusty friend! And give us a hand o’ thine!
And we’ll take a right good-will draught, for auld lang syne.

While the cat's away...
...the Blueshirts will play:
Sun. 16th Rangers vs. Phoenix Coyotes
Coyotes 5 Rangers 1 guh.
Tue. 18th Rangers vs. Pittsburgh Penguins
Rangers 4 Penguins 0
YAY!!
Thu. 20th Rangers vs. Minnesota Wild
Wild 6 Rangers 3

Marion Gaboricik scored 5 goals, and 2 of those were batted out of mid-air. Very 'Gretzky' like. huh.
Fri. 21st Rangers vs. Colorado Avalanche
guh.
Sun. 23rd Rangers vs. Ottawa Senators
guh.
Wed. 26th Rangers vs. Carolina Hurricanes
Rangers 4 Hurricanes 2
YAY!!!!!!!
Here's what can happen when you skate with your head down across the neutral zone:
Sorta clean hit, (I saw the replay on espn) but Colton (no relation to Bobby) Orr did do some serious violence to poor Matt Cullen. Well, judge for yourself:
How will I blog these games with no computer & no Internet? *scratches head*

Good news, Bad news.
Capitols 5 Rangers 4 (OT)
guh.
The tie gave NY a point in the standings, but the loss against a team with the worst record in the NHL is a bad sign. The boys went inside the Beltway and got into a scoring match with the Crapitols. Where was the concentrated defensive effort of the game against the Devils?? Washington out shot New York by a wide margin. (35-23)
Martin Straka and Brendan Shanahan were the offensive stars for the Rangers, who have now lost 4 of their last 5...

A 'Devilish' Perfomance!
Rangers 1 Devils 0 (OT)
YAY!!
Sunday afternoon at The World's Most Famous Arena the Blueshirts beat New Jersey at their own game, combining selfless defensive play with the return to fine form by Henrik Lundqvist.
Martin Straka missed 15 games recently after breaking a finger while blocking a shot, yet there he was on Sunday, diving to block 3 shots during a Devils power play. He is the bravest man in all of Braverytown! “The first one hurt,” Straka said. “The other ones I just went down and I was lucky enough that it hit me. I didn’t break anything, that’s the good thing.”
30 seconds into overtime, the Rangers won it when Brendan Shanahan blasted a one-timer past the ever stingy Martin Brodeur, beautiful assist by Scott Gomez.
Tough day at the office for Michal Rozsival, check it out:

Too many of their biscuits in our basket.
Thrashers 4 Rangers 2
guh.
As foretold yesterday, Henrik got the night off in Atlanta, Stephen Valiquette getting the start in goal. Stevie V played well, allowing just 3 to get past him, (the 4th goal was an empty-netter with 5 seconds left in the game) but it was Slava Kozlov's slapper late in the 3rd that broke the tie.
Marcel Hossa and Chris Drury scored early, but that was it, despite 30 shots at the Thrasher netminder Johan Hedberg.
This is officially a losing streak, and I'm officially depressed. *sigh*
The New Jersey Devils have won 9 in a row; the Blueshirts had better step up their game tomorrow at MSG...

Lundqvist Letdown
Maple Leafs 6 Rangers 2
guh.
I think poor Henrik is overworked (26 starts in the Rangers' 28 games), and with 2 sub-par games in a row, let's give the guy a night off. 6 goals allowed on 10 shots, with the hat trick going to Nik Antropov.
Thrashers in the ATL tonight. C'mon boys, let's have

Their circular logo is supposed to represent some sort of fierce wind thing, but it's really just crap, isn't it?
Oh well, they scored 4 goals, and the boys were shut out. *sigh*

Big Lead, Big Win!
Rangers 5 Senators 2
YAY!!!
After nine straight losing visits to Ottawa, New York tried a new approach, building a 4-0 lead and then hanging on for the win. I like it!
Daniel Girardi opened the scoring 3:37 into period one, Brendan Shanahan scored the first of his 2 goals a few minutes later; followed by a Jaromir Jagr power play goal a few minutes after that. 3 goals 11:40 into the game, they obviously came out with a purpose.
Shanny made it 4-0 (ppg) halfway through the 2nd, and that was a comfortable margin for Henrik Lundqvist, who stopped 31 of 33 shots. Blair Betts put the icing on the cake with a goal with 40 seconds left in the 3rd.
The Hurricanes come to visit MSGon Monday...

First Place!
Rangers 4 Islanders 2
YAY!!!
The top line of Jagr, Straka and Dubinsky combined for 2 goals and 4 assists; Drury and Gomez each scored a power play goal, and the Blueshirts beat the Fishsticks for the 1st time in 4 tries this season. Barton Silverman took these 2 shots of the Jagr and Dubinsky goals:
The boys were 10-3-1 for November, that's outstanding! They travel to Ottawa for a game Saturday against the mighty Sens.

The Empire Struck Back...
Well my team lost its war with the NHL. No more independent Rangers home page; www.newyorkrangers.com is now part of NHL.com, and the web site is now: http://rangers.nhl.com/
The old link still works 'cos, duh, I just clicked it and that's how I found out the news. It's not that I'm adverse to any kind of change, it's just that I like things to stay the same.
same. same. same. same. same. same. same. same. same. same. same. same. same. same.
Sean Avery is going to miss some time as he is having arthroscopic surgery on his wrist Thursday. Get well soon, ya bigthug lug.
Thursday, it's another game against the Islanders @ MSG; the boys have yet to beat the fishsticks this year.

Stars 3 Rangers 2
guh
The Blueshirts outshot visiting Dallas 41-18, but could only get 2 past Stars netminder Mike Smith. They were 0 for 6 on the power play. guh.
Goals from Shanahan and Jagr were not enough to offset the turnovers and missed chances. C'mon boys, let's get back to winning...

'Jok' Aside, We'll Take The Point!
Panthers 3 Rangers 2 (OT/SO)
*muted YAY*
Ranger backup netminder Stephen Valiquette got the nod as the boys visited Florida on Friday night. Busy night for Stevie V., and he played very well, stopping 33 of 35 shots in regulation/overtime. Unfortunately, allowed the only goal in the shootout, scored by Olie Jokinen of the Panthers.
Chris Drury scored both Ranger goals, and Jaromir Jagr nearly won it, but his late 3rd period attempt clanged off the post. *frak!*

Strike Down the Lightning!
Rangers 2 Lightning 1
YAY!!!
The Rangers went back on the road and got back to winning, shutting down the red hot Vinny Lecavalier, and holding Tampa Bay to just one very late goal. (16 seconds left in the 3rd- Sorry, Henrik!) The boys found scoring production from tough guy Colton (not to be confused with Bobby) Orr and defenseman Fedor Tyutin.
A couple of rookies made their Ranger debut in Tampa on Wednesday night; call-ups Greg Moore and Ivan Baranka (see photo below) from Hartford of the AHL.
That's five straight road wins, woohoo! Okay boys, let's make it 6 this Friday against Florida...
